The Donkey

The Donkey by G.K. Chesterton
When fishes flew and forests walked,
And figs grew upon thorn,
Some moment when the moon was blood,
Then surely I was born.

With monstrous head and sickening cry,
And ears like errant wings,
The devil’s walking parody
Of all four-footed things.

The tattered outlaw of the earth,
Of ancient, crooked will;
Starve, scourge, deride me: I am dumb,
I keep my secret still.

Fools!  For I also had my hour;
One far fierce hour and sweet:
There was a shout about my ears,
And palms before my feet.

Lent

Squeak!  Hi everyone.  I was just wondering if you're doing different for Lent this year.  Giving something up?  Taking on something new?  How about trying a different worship service?  If you come visit me on the website every day, you'll find a new scripture reading (It's right above me!  Look up!).  Do you use the green Taking Faith Home bulletin inserts?  Now's a great time to try!

Let us know what you're doing this Lenten season...
